D: So the reason why you get more hungover off of sugary drinks is that alcohol is metabolized into an aldehyde. Sucrose gets broken into two parts as well and one of them is an aldehyde the breakdown of said aldehyde into other parts is the rate limiting step, so, by swamping your body with excess aldehyde, it can't break it down as quickly which then gives you a headache.
