French Onion Soup, Anyone?

Back when my house (circa 1890) used to be an ultra-chic mansion, my room was part of the maid’s quarters. This means that it is positioned directly above the kitchen. The advantages of this location are that I can use a back staircase to move stealthy between the floors of my house and I can do my laundry undetected. However, the back staircase acts as a sort of aroma tunnel that channels any smells that are coming out of the kitchen directly into my room. Today when I got back from my morning class, I was greeted by the wonderful scent of onions and soup. In other words, my room reeks of sweaty feet. Bon appetit.
