It seems like all of my parents’ friends are turning 60. Last weekend one of my favorite people, Carol, greeted her sixtieth year with a small afternoon celebration.
Her only request of me was that I bake a horseshoe cake. After purchasing the pan, I decided to whip up a wreath ala a winning racing star. I used my aunt Jessie’s recipe for ganache and my favorite Portsmouth frosting from the Fannie Farmer Cookbook.
Delicious.
