If I were between the ages of fourteen and twenty two I would have stood at the base of this monument last night — a short, freezing walk away from the first landing place of the pilgrims — and waited for it to light up like a tall, festive castle.
Instead, I slept through the Pacific Northwest rain.
Happy Thanksgiving, no matter what coast you’re on. Oh hell, we’ll even include you people in the middle.

Okay, Internet. Who in Seattle wants to purchase a Groupon to see famed psychic (and winner of The Best Name Ever) Chip Coffey with me next Monday? Coffey Talk!
Offerings at 1st & Bell, 2011.
If anyone needs long lasting energy without the crash, zero sugar, and zero net carbs, it’s the Virgin Mother.
I love it when the mysterious art in my neighborhood pops up on Tumblr. I’ve been resisting the urge to lick this since June.

Last night I had the pleasure of photographing Tarboo’s Spring 2011 shin dig over in their new work space.

I’ve got such a crush on the Pun(c)tuation collective it’s hardly news.
More photos here.
We went to church on Saturday.
Well, the church hip hop & poetry, which is my preferred place of worship. I feel consistently blessed by the people around me who do great things.
All photos by the lovely Sarah Jurado in her infinite wisdom.
More here.
Some genius in my city crafted this. I’m hoping he has a reasonable hourly rate.
More on the process here.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time with the guy on the left.
He is from Minnesota, which makes him nicer than most people. His name is Nick.
His favorite desert is ice cream cake, with butterscotch pudding a close second. He likes guitars, science and brewing beer. I like secretly using his deodorant.
I think things are going really well. Love tends to do that to a girl. Plus, I think he’ll stick around for awhile, seeing as we moved in together last week.
Essentially, we liked it so we put a roof on it. A nice, pre-war roof across the street from the Woodland Park Zoo.
I’ll keep you posted, Internet.
